I type around 60-65 wpm - is that good?

That speed should land you a job anywhere.

The top typists I have seen type 90wpm and that's with many years experience.

Companies are looking for extreme accuracy on those typing tests.

Google "free typing speed test". And practice.

If you get up to 80, you'll be impressive.

The highest recorded about 150 wmp. but 60-65 kind of average, for professional whos job is only typing, need about 90-100

My best time - on an Imperial 55 typewriter, was 82 wpm.

60 wpm was, I seem to remember, good enough to qualify as an Advanced Typing speed for the R.S.A. Certificate, way back in the 1950's.

That's fair, for a clerk. shoot for 80-120

You are in the average range but that being said those that are accurate and can edit at the same time are real valuable to many companies. Good luck

That is good. Most companies want at least 50 wpm. Sometimes accuracy is the most important thing required by a company.
