Suggestion needed about the mistakes I made at office?
Okay it has been a shitty week at work now we're on weekend and it's my off day today.
I've made couple of mistakes this week. Some of them was little some of them was huge. But I was just told to be more careful from now on and consult everything with them before taking an action.
Moreover, it was obvious that I've done my best but still couldn't escape from failure.
Since this is my first job ever I'm trying so hard and putting extra effort on everything. Actually, except my manager and the girl who trains me (the one that I'll be replaced with because she'll quit) everyone thinks that I'm doing a marvelous job in spite of my lack of experience and university degree. But I'm having hard time satisfying these 2 people, they want everything to be quick, perfect and on time.
And when they ask me a question they really don't mean to ask one, these questions are usually traps to see my reaction. They usually know the answer beforehand and the judgement has already been made. So they hardly listen my defences, they just ask the questions in order to have the opportunity to make me realize the mistake was made (by me or someone else) and lecture me about it in an agressive way.
But this week they really didn't get so harsh on me even there was lots of little mistakes due to lack of knowladge and experience. They were not aggresive but helpful. Maybe they came to a conclusion that; it's normal for me to make such kind of mistakes? I'm not sure but I feel uncomfortable with having a bad impression on them. Should I send an email to apologize and tell them that I'm learning new things everyday and I'll be more careful from now on?
PS: I'm invited on a lunch with one of the inverstors of company. He really liked me and my efforts on work very much and wanted to make me meet his family. Since this is something personal between me and him, could this be a reason for them to step back? I'm not sure but I needed to note this down.

If you want to work for this employer you need to be proactive. Request a meeting between yourself, the supervisor and the manager. Explain to them you like the job and you want to be successful but you feel there are some areas in which you still need their guidance and input. Make sure to have a list of the job functions in which you need more training and the ideal type of assistance you require. Ask them questions such as if you were me in my position, how would you approach your boss to get the assistance you need. |
