Should I wait it out or just start looking?

I took a position with a travel agency knowing it was going to be temporary. When I started the manager told me that they do have a full time permanent position open and told me that I should apply. I did apply and there have been many others that have as well. She has not conducted any interviews and today she is out of the office and a lady came in who said she had an interview for my position with someone that I have never heard of. Another lady in the office called our manager and she didn't know anything about it. Should I start looking for another job or wait this one out and hope it works?

I would start looking for another job, it doesn't mean you have to take another job but it's good to start the ball rolling and keep your options open.

I wonder if the manager was away somewhere else doing interviews, it makes one wonder! That is my suspicious mind working overtime. It would be good to have your resume up to date and keep looking. If someone else gets the job you will be unemployed and you don't want that. If you start to go for other jobs and it's a more secure position then you need to consider if you want to take a risk and stay or go for the new job.

If your MANAGER was the one who told you they have that full time position, then donīt worry about it. I am sure you have great chances of getting that job!

On the other hand, it never hurts to keep your eyes open about other job opportunities - but just in case something better comes along. You have not made any full time commitments in that company yet so explore your options!!
