Do you think it's ok for me to apply for this job?
I am thinking of applying for a job at a graphic design company as a Receptionist. The advertisement did not say that you would need to be proficient in design software programs but they said it's an asset if you have Mac experience. I'm more of a PC user but I've used a Mac computer before for general things like surfing the net and word processing. I know the basics of using Mac and the obvious differences between the two. But are there other intricate uses to Mac computers that can't be learned right away? Is using a Mac is much more different than PC? So overall, would it be fine if I apply for the job?
I posted this in the Computers/Internet section, but nobody gave me relevant answers so I hope somebody here can give me more insight. Thank you!

You have nothing to lose by applying. If you get an interview, you can ask them what kind of Mac experience the are looking for. It said it's an "asset", not a requirement. Explain that you have some basic Mac experience and would be happy to learn more. See what they say; if they like you for other reasons, they might be willing to train you. Go for it! |

If you can handle a Mac with word processing, you should be fine for a Receptionist position. Let them know that you are willing to learn any other applications that would help you elevate your job skills. Good luck. |

This in not a requirement for the job, but that it would be helpful to know. Tell them although you have little experience with a Mac, you are a fast learner and are good at multi-tasking. Most places that hire will want to train you their way regardless of what you know. |
