Do I enter my flight hours on my timesheet?
I traveled to another country with my boss for work. I'm paid hourly and all my expenses (meals, transportation, lodging) was paid by the company. I flew out on a Friday for 13 hours... worked Monday and Tuesday in that country and flew back on Thursday on a 15 hour flight. How do I enter my hours in the time sheet? I know I only account for the Monday and Tuesday as work hours but do I also enter my actual flight hours?

In short, yes you should enter your flight hours. However, you need to talk to your boss or review your company's policy for what you should record and at what pay rate because it varies by state and by company. (There are federal standards, but some states pay for time beyond what the federal standards cover.) Typically you would get paid for all the time you spent traveling, minus time spent sleeping or eating. Some companies pay you a lower rate for travel time. (sucks but true.) |
