Federal Construction Superintendent ***MUST APPLY ONLINE AT www.dwg1.com***JOB INFORMATION: TITLE: Construction Superintendent FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt DEPARTMENT: Operations EEO Code: 49-1011 REPORTS TO: Program Manager DATE PREPARED: 6/5/2009 JOB PURPOSE: The Superintendent role is to oversee an entire project or part of a project.

They schedule and coordinate all design and construction processes.

These managers coordinate and supervise the construction process from the conceptual development stage through final construction, making sure that the project gets done on time and within budget.

They often work with owners, engineers, architects, and others who are involved in the construction process and oversee the planning, scheduling, and implementation of designs to complete to project.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Including but not limited to): Coordinate and supervise the construction process from the conceptual development stage through final construction, making sure that the project gets done on time and within budget.

Work with all parties including Program & Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, Laborers and others who are involved in the construction process to ensure effective management of project.

Determine the best way to get materials to the building site and the most cost-effective plan and schedule for completing the project.

Divide all required construction site activities into logical steps, budgeting the time required to meet established deadlines.

This may require sophisticated estimating and scheduling techniques and use of computers with specialized software.

Oversee the selection of general contractors and trade contractors to complete specific pieces of the projectDetermine the labor requirements and, in some cases, supervise or monitor the hiring and dismissal of workers.

Oversee the performance of all trade contractors and are responsible for ensuring that all work is completed on schedule.

Oversee the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment; worker productivity and safety; and the quality of construction.

Responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses and, depending upon the contractual arrangements, direct or monitor compliance with building and safety codes, other regulations, and requirements set by the projects insurers.

Acting as laborer with crew in carpentry, cleanliness, safety, and other general construction trades.

A large part of time will be focused on maintaining safety on the job site.All other assignments as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: BBA / BS Degree or equivalent work experience.

Certified Professional Constructor certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Experience with government contracts REQUIRED.

30 hour OSHA certification REQUIRED.

Scheduling experience REQUIRED.

Competent in MS Office.

5 Plus years experience in a Superintendent role in a commercial construction environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate levels of stress may occur.

DECISION MAKING: This position has limited decision-making authority.
