Mario Hair Petty Officer, 1st Class Panama City, Florida "We were out in the Mediterranean and our ship was in need of a part that was no longer manufactured.
I was called down to the engine room to sketch the part and its functionality to the system.
We then wired the drawing to a ship parts plant in England.
They followed my drawing, made the part our ship needed and sent it to us within a few days.
It was good to know my drawing ability helped my crew and my ship get back to operating at full steam!" Visit Navy Crossroads where you'll read stories about people just like you who enhanced every aspect of their lives by joining the Navy.
