Unit Assistant (5213255)
Department: Telemetry - 1 South SCHEDULE: Oncall.
Variable shift.
0 hrs/wk.
EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING/WORK EXPERIENCE At least six months experience as a Unit Assistant within the past 2 years or RN student with one semester of clinical experience required.
In lieu of above experience, will consider graduate of a formal unit assistant program.
Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
Must demonstrate knowledge of technical communication equipment and the ability to perform computer data entry and retrieval functions.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
Required to float.
DUTIES Under the direction of an RN, contributes indirectly to patient care by performing clerical functions such as answering phones, transcribing orders, delivering specimens, ordering forms and supplies, obtaining and returning equipment and communicating data for staffing and bed control.
Must perform all duties in a courteous manner.
Must be willing to work in a labor management partnership environment
