Senior Contracts Specialist

Objective: To perform diverse duties, under general supervision, to assist in administering, reporting, and monitoring the surety and contracts programs in a manner consistent with Company's policies and procedures.
Essential Functions: Evaluate contractual terms and conditions related to risk allocation between the Company and the contracting party prior to bid. Review and process all joint ventures, design-build, and any alternative procurement bid documents.
Seek input from Legal Department as needed.
Request input from Insurance Department and Broker for insurance related clauses.
Provide information to Broker when special conditions exist ie RPL, OCP, OCIP, etc. Evaluate Company's ability to provide bonds under the terms and conditions specified in contract.
Update the large project summary report to ensure all parties are kept apprised of critical issues.
Provide support for Operations on large complex projects.
Work with the sureties to address all their concerns/issues in a timely manner.
Advise the Contracts Manger of critical risk issues to manage the department's workflow.
Coordinate and participate in joint venture risk review discussions.
Process contract documents.
Issue required bonds.
Monitor industry changes as they relate to electronic bidding activities.
Analyze and recommend any changes to the company's policies and procedures to comply with the requirements of electronic bids.
Provide support to field on surety/contract questions.
Perform notary functions.
Provide technical and other support for mergers and acquisitions.
Document and maintain procedures for all duties.
Perform special projects and additional assignments as directed.
Required Education: BS degree in Business Management and 5 year's office experience.
Required Experience & Knowledge: Knowledge of contracts, bonding requirements and practices.
Experience in preparing bid documents.
Knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, and JD Edwards a plus.
Knowledge of Business communication formats.
Typing 45 WPM. Required Competencies: Ability to work well with all levels of staff as well as external customers.
Attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
Excellent collaboration, verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Flexibility, readily adaptable to change.
Ability to handle high volume of work during peak session.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
