Responsibilities Support the hematopoetic stem cell transplant clinic by coordinating the intake process for all incoming patients, including those arriving for consultation visits, apheresis procedures, and comprehensive medical treatment.

Schedule appointments, collect and enter patient data, obtain medical records, films, and pathology slides for review, and assist with the insurance clearance process.

Qualifications BS / BA in related field preferred Proficiency in oncology terminology Two years of experience in a tertiary patient care setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with scheduling software and MS Office Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team Detail-oriented and able to multitask Ability to function well in fast-paced environment Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule Salary DOE + Excellent Benefits 100% Full Time Other Information Job Number JB-20356 Major Duties • Per physician order, contact patient or referring physician on behalf of a specific medical group or attending physician • Schedule consultation appointments for patients; match patients with designated attending physicians • Schedule appropriate treatment appointments; route information throughout the system via electronic scheduling program and e-mail • Collect and enter comprehensive demographic information on patients (and donors, if applicable) into the appropriate registration system and/or database • At the direction of the Patient Financial Services department, assist with the financial clearance process by coordinating the routing of clinical information (protocols, medical records, letters) as requested by the payer to support the patient treatment plan; assure that appropriate authorization / clearance has been obtained prior to services being rendered • Identify any areas of concern / anticipated needs (transportation, support care, social issues, etc.) and triage appropriately • Send information packets to patients (and donors, if applicable) via U S mail or Federal Express • Request medical records from referring physicians and outside institutions; organize in designated categories for clinician review • Request pathology slides and diagnostic films (based on diagnosis and type of appointment); route materials to Pathology Dept or Health Information Services as appropriate • Register patients scheduled for apheresis procedures; route paperwork and medical records to appropriate departments • Coordinate hospital-to-hospital transfers as necessary, at direction of clinical staff • Receive and respond to patient concerns and complaints; refer clinical issues to manager • Provide cross-coverage for other PCC positions as needed • May direct the work of others (eg receptionist or office worker) • Perform other duties as required How To Apply To apply for this position please click on the "Apply Now" button below.
