Office And Administrative Support Opportunities

Office and Administrative Support in the Navy Reserve People are the top priority of the Navy and Navy Reserve, so making sure that the needs of our personnel are met is of great importance.
As a Reservist in this field, you will serve at the heart of Navy operations.
You will find your service to be very gratifying as you help other Sailors thrive in the Navy and help them achieve their goals.
One day, you're providing guidance about rights, benefits, or legal assistance.
The next, you're offering career and education counseling or perhaps overseeing personnel record keeping.
A month later, you're organizing religious activities for a diverse group of Sailors just before you coordinate all the administrative duties surrounding aircraft maintenance.

Jobs in this field include: Disbursing Clerk Postal Clerk Quartermaster Yeoman As part of this occupational specialty, you could: - Operate personal computers, word processors, duplicating machines, and audio recording and other office machines - Maintain personnel, legal, and administrative records - Write official letters, reports, and personal correspondence - Provide counseling regarding career opportunities, education, requirements, rights, and benefits - Interview personnel and administer tests - Assist Enlisted Sailors and their families with special problems or personal hardships - Provide legal, administrative, and clerical assistance; prepare subpoenas; investigate claims; schedule courtrooms; and notify people involved - Process appeals - Help personnel prepare legal forms, letters, and requests - Schedule aircraft inspections - Keep charts that show trends in aircraft system reliability - Issue aircraft inspection and work orders - Maintain aircraft and engine logbooks and associated records - Support Chaplains of all faiths and provide support for religious activities - Operate and manage religious ministry facilities on shore or at sea - Assist in preparation of devotional and religious educational materials Advanced Training & Certification Jobs in the Office and Administrative Support field offer an excellent opportunity to utilize your people skills and gain outstanding office management experience.
On-the-job training and formal Navy schooling prepare you for administrative activities, such as familiarity with logs, records, reports, and computer programs.
You could earn Department of Labor certification allowing you to work as a computer peripheral-equipment operator.
Your training might also prepare you to be, or enhance your current career as, an aircraft log clerk, office manager, counselor, employment interviewer, office administrator, legal secretary, administrative assistant, church business administrator, or religious facilities manager.
Most on-the-job training in this field directly translates to credit at colleges and universities.
