DEPARTMENT: Occ. Med. SCHEDULE: Full-Time regular; 40 hours per week; day shift; scheduled days vary; hours are from 8:30am to 5:00pm EDUCATION: BA degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Medicine or Workers Compensation LICENSE / CERTIFICATION: N/A SKILLS TESTING: N/A Computer / Word Processing / Other: Proficient in a variety of software applications including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Lotus Notes and mainframe applications Skills / Abilities Preferred: Bilingual, English-Spanish speaking preferred.

Knowledge Preferred: Health Connect, CRES, CIPS, Reg+, Access, Bedrock and Lotus Notes Experience Preferred: Three years supervising a multi-disciplinary staff of non-exempt and entry level exempt employees preferred.

Experience conducting training programs and budget management preferred Experience Required: Proven technical or academic knowledge in Occupational Health and/or Worker Compensation.

Five or more years of recent experience in Occupational Health, Industrial medicine or Workers Compensation required, including return to work or modified work programs and/or ongoing contact with multiple, varied and local employer groups, worker compensation carriers and third party administrators.

Ability to use time management skills and independent judgment.

Ability to adapt to shifting priorities; team player, tactful and diplomatic.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with all levels of management internal/external.

Excellent communication skills with emphasis on negotiations and problem solving.

Ability to manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously.

Ability to effectively interface with employers and management in guiding them through complex regulatory and legal issues.

Excellent attendance required.

Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Summary of Duties: The Occupational Health Case Management Supervisor reports to Manager of Occupational Health and works directly with non-Kaiser providers, insurance carriers, third party administrators and employers.

Guides, facilitates and expedites patient care delivery for the maximum recovery of patients with work related illness or injuries.

Identifies cost-effective protocols and recommends alternative processes for patient care delivery.

Directs and supervises other exempt and union case management business office staff.

Supervises the day-to-day activities of the case management business office area in accordance with applicable regulations and cost-containment efforts.

Conducts analyses and produces management reports.

Identifies, coordinates and implements projects/programs to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of operations.

Promotes a team environment and provides work direction and guidance including coaching, professional developments and training.

Assists with management of the department in the absence of the Occupational Health Manager.

Promotes and supports department's goal and strategic initiatives.

Provides support and advice to management, ensuring compliance with programmatic, financial, service, revenue capture and other departmental and organizational goals.
