Imagery Scientist
Description: The qualified individual will have the ability to present SAR analysis and results to imagery analysts and managers, which must be presented and explained in a manner that the customer can understand.
They will also be required to provide results to the customer with the requested form and content, while occasionally providing ad-hoc informational briefings for the purpose of educating analysts and managers as to the capabilities of SAR imagery processing and its benefit.
The candidate shall support and participate in community imagery exploitation and technology forums on a limited ad-hoc basis.
This sometimes requires presentation of technical information or case studies resulting from operational support requests.
This candidate shall also include monitoring the community and industry for new near-term technologies that can be inserted for operational use. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must have the following: *United States Citizenship *Software: Demonstrated experience using COTS image software (eg RSI ENVI, ERDAS Imagine), COTS desktop software (eg MS Office), and the Windows and Unix operating environments.
Of particular importance are software packages used for the processing and analysis of multi-spectral imagery data *Education: Four years of study in image science, remote sensing, earth science, physical science, OR similar course of study at an accredited school and 3 years of experience as an image scientist.
*Functional: Working knowledge of SAR imagery technology Demonstrated experience with applied image processing and analysis of SAR. *Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
