Responsibilities Administrative oversight of all subawards issued under awards made to FHCRC investigators and staff as well as Federal Contracts and incoming subawards made by outside institutions to FHCRC investigators and faculty.

The Specialist is responsible for (1) working with other specialists, investigators and their administrators on issues relating to contracts, subawards and staff assignments (2) preparing and negotiating contracts, subawards, and staff assignments issued by the Center for research conducted under sponsored projects, (3) maintaining the database used for the subcontracting process; (4) working with GCA Office staff and program staff to resolve questions or issues that come up on contracts, subawards, and staff assignments (5) acting as liaison for the Center between program staff and outside institutions.

Additionally this position assists in review of applications submitted by FHCRC investigators SPECIFIC DUTIES: • Advise on and review all applications submitted by Center staff for restricted funding.

Actual budget or proposal preparation may be required.

• Prepare and Negotiate contracts, subawards, and staff assignments issued by and to the Center.

• Prepare and negotiate any modifications to existing subcontracts or staff assignments • Prepares the Budget Allocation Record forms for set up and adjustment of restricted funding in PeopleSoft, the Center's Financial Management System.

• Assist Investigators/administrators with problems and questions arising on subawards issued under their accounts.

• Act as primary liaison with outside institution staff to respond to their questions/concerns or request modifications to the award for activities needing agency prior approval.

• Prepares journal vouchers and redistributions as needed.

• Assist in special projects as requested by the supervisor or Director, Grant & Contract Administration.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Public Administration or related field; evidence of ability to work with budgets and numbers including knowledge of spreadsheet programs (Excel preferred) and 10-key; ability to multi-task; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to use reasoning and analytical skills to make judgments with some support/mentoring; 2 years experience in grants & contracts field with knowledge of NIH funding preferred.
