J2ee Web Developer/Convertibles
J2ee, weblogic, java, SQL, Unix, Linux, Tibco or similar middleware MUST HAVE FINANCIAL INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE Convertibles Web Developer JOB DESCRIPTION: Job is for a Developer position within Convertibles technology team at The company.
The main responsibilities will be developing and providing support for the Convertibles web page on this company portal.
The Convertibles page is undergoing major upgrades.
Once complete it will provide functionalities of trading, market making, product details and analytics.
The candidate will be developing web application in WebLogic framework environment using EJBs, Struts, Servlets, JSPs, etc. The web layer will communicate with backend server layer using Tibco.
Responsibilities would also include working with traders, sales and research staff on implementing business requirements, release support and fine-tuning current applications.
Knowledge of equity derivatives and convertibles is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work with users to gather requirements and communicate during development cycle.
- Develop and support applications for Convertibles desk.
- Significant hands-on coding - Ability to balance support and development roles - Perform analysis of existing applications and their performance, both from technical and quantitative points REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: - J2EE (Weblogic) - Strong Java - SQL - Unix/Linux - Experience building multithreaded real-time systems with high volume of messages using Tibco or similar middleware.
DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: - Perl - Shell Scripting - Tibco - OTHER DESIRED SKILLS - Good communication skills - Ability to work under pressure - Initiative and team player DESIRED WORK EXPERIENCE 3 - 5 years of Financial Industry Web developer experience, Especially Equity derivatives or Convertibles Experience.
