Description: Risk Systems Support Engineer The Risk Systems Support Engineer is a position within the Trade and Risk Management group in New York.

The role includes providing implementation and on-going support to new and existing Reuters TRM clients in North America.

The successful candidate will demonstrate their ability to implement and support Trade and Risk Management systems in our region.

This is primarily a technical role and is an excellent opportunity to develop strong market and application knowledge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide technical support and problem management for North American Clients.

Log calls and service requests from clients and manage them to resolution.

This will involve escalating problems to developers and monitoring the progress.

Resolve technical/functional linked troubles in conjunction with Financial Application Consultants.

Develop and demonstrate competence in Risk products and the technical infrastructure they rely on. New product, version evaluation and testing.

Support demonstration facilities for Risk Systems.

Build relationships with clients, understand their systems and business requirements.

Thus being well positioned in giving advice on resolving and developing their use of our solutions and products from a technical perspective.

Give detailed technical presentations, training & advice on architectures to clients.

Present and discuss the technical aspects of Kondor+, KVAR/KGR & K+TP/KTP at a high level.

Undertake Consultancy work on client premises The role will require to travel and work outside office hours Experience in all of the following items: Unix, Linux, Sun Solaris & IBM AIX Database installation, system administration and SQL (Sybase & Oracle) TCP/IP, Local/Wide Area Networks Windows NT/2000/XP - Server Expertise in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: l Reuters Trade and Risk Management products - Kondor+, KGR/KVAR+, K+TP/KTP or other Front / Middle / Back Trading Systems Reuters Market Data products - Triarch, RMDS & TIB Reuters Dealing Program languages, such as C, C++, per Java/J2EE/JSP/XML/Web technologies Volume Managers (IBM Logical Volume Manager, Sun Online Disk Suite, Veritas VxFS and VxVM) High Availability (IBM HACMP and/or Sun Cluster) Middleware environments, such as TIB/Rendezvous or IBM MQ-series Application Servers such as IBM WebSphere and/or BEA Weblogic Server SQL programming Sybase replication server Database/OS performance tuning Citrix Metaframe and/or Tarantella Financial Markets Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of all Reuters Trade and Risk products.

That is, be able to support: All modules of Kondor+, KVAR+ & K+TP/KTP KreditNet/KGL/KGR Ability to develop and maintain KSQL-, Open- & Custom Window reports Interfacing, such as Dealing 2000/3000.

Aspects of application configuration and administration.

Import/Export data from Kondor+, KVAR+ & KTP. Understand planned future product developments Develop skills of new technologies and product modules in a timely manner to reach all the required skill levels.

Additionally, candidate needs to be able to: Undertake consultancy work.

Utilize project methodologies.
