Description: Global Content Specialist (Transactions) JOB DESCRIPTION – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reuters is the leading global provider of news, financial information and technology solutions to the world’s media, financial institutions, businesses and individuals.

The Company and Economic Data (CED) team is responsible for a number of data sets including Fundamentals, Estimates, M&A, Corporate Actions, Kalends, Business Intelligence, Global Filings etc, plus Reuters Knowledge Direct, a suite of data file and API products based on these data sets.

The CED Content Specialist Team is responsible for the delivery and support of products and enhancements.

Specifically, this team is responsible for creating and communicating roadmaps, prioritizing and approving projects and enhancements, coordinating product development and database enhancements, writing related specifications, interfacing with other Divisions and Channels to meet their needs and coordinating with the Products to ensure a timely and consistent implementation of CED content.

This team also product manages the Reuters Knowledge Direct (files and API’s) product suite.

The Transactions Content Specialist will be responsible for Reuters’ Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), and Public Equity Offerings (PEO) data sets.

In 2006/7 the specialist team will oversee the addition of a substantial number of companies to this data set, and coordinate the introduction of these data sets into Reuters Knowledge Direct.

The specialist will: Contribute to strategy to make Reuters the preferred supplier of Company and Economic Data Work with Divisions and Channels to determine requirements and priorities for content and analytics Work with Data to capture operational requirements Work with developers to define and create analytics based on M&A and PEO data Work with clients, vendors and channel partners in the integration of Knowledge Direct products, and understand clients’ enhancement requests for Knowledge Direct products Write relevant specifications and work with Development to develop new versions of Knowledge Direct products based on client and data enhancement requests Define a roadmap which reflects these requirements, achieving a balance between strategic and tactical priorities and resource constraints Be responsible for the delivery of enhancements as per the roadmap Create and maintain documentation for users of Knowledge Direct Test new functionality/releases where appropriate, providing expert user feedback Reinforce internal/external credibility as a leading expert by participation in industry groups and through internal/external presentations.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS – REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry Extensive experience in the use of financial statements and analytics Experience with the nature of, and use of, M&A and PEO data Deep interest the Equity Markets and the investment process Bachelors Degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Accounting or Business; Masters’ degree preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Advanced user of MS Office applications Experience using financial data over industry-standard products (eg via platforms such as FactSet, Bloomberg, BridgeStation, ThomsonOne etc) desirable Familiarity with Reuters Content desirable Ability to analyze complex information and strong customer awareness essential Demonstrates urgency, energy, drive and enthusiasm; strong team player Listens actively to others, questioning to clarify and develop understanding Reuters is an equal opportunity employer.
