Assistant Editor-Humanities
Position Summary: The Assistant Editor is responsible for program conceptualization, project management, and content development of selected textbooks and supplements programs for college Humanities courses.
The Editor takes the lead in market-focused developmental planning and decision-making.
The Editor manages the review process, prepares and monitors schedules, and keeps projects within budget.
The Editor monitors authors in their execution of the development plan, providing market-oriented, specific feedback for improvements.
The Editor hires and manages authors and freelancers creating content for print and technology components of the package.
And the Editor provides marketing and sales support upon request.
Requirements Approximately 1-2 years experience in project management and/or development required.
The ideal applicant must be an excellent problem-solver as well as independent, organized, focused, assertive, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to work well within a team.
