Advertising Research Manager Reuters Consumer Media Reuters’ Consumer Media division is looking for an Advertising Research Manager to handle primary and syndicated research needs of the Advertising Sales organization.

We are seeking an online advertising research pro who can gather and organize, in presentation form, the primary and syndicated research necessary to create winning advertising proposals.

They need to be creative and an expert in digging deep into Third-party databases to find strong, relevant data to support successful pitches for the sales team.

Responsibilities: Serve as the liaison to the advertising sales team within the Consumer Media organization, focusing on online advertising sales.

Understand and identify information needs to aide the advertising sales organization in achieving and exceeding revenue and business targets.

Bring an in-depth understanding of all the demographic, psychographic and lifestyle data available through syndicated services to build compelling sales presentations.

Able to support primary research needs of the sales team by conducting audience profile studies, category insight reports as well as ad effectiveness research (eg Dynamic Logic).

Manage both micro objectives of client specific pitches and also help support larger strategic objectives by evaluating and identifying new categories for the company to break.

Develop and institute processes by which customer and industry research is incorporated into the ad sales process and utilized within the organization.

Utilize primary and secondary research tools to provide business intelligence to the sales and business teams, identifying trends in the advertising, consumer, and competitive marketplace.

Secondary data sources will include Nielsen/Netratings, @Plan, Ad Relevance, Hitwise, and other to-be-identified sources of information.

Assist in the development of media kits and presentation materials.

Skills Required: 5 years of online ad-sales research experience with a leading media brand; some international exposure a plus Experience supporting advertising sales specific to mobile and emerging media, a plus Able to extract and format data, perform analysis, summarize results and translate them into compelling support for advertising pitches Prior experience with online syndicated research tools, eg Nielsen/Netratings, @Plan, Ad Relevance, Hitwise, etc. Some experience with "concept" sales in emerging media that lack developed quantitative metrics (mobile and ITV and video on demand) Expert in spreadsheet, database applications (MS Excel), presentation software (MS Powerpoint) with experience in creating rich media presentations helpful.
