Administrative Associate, Human Resources
Position Summary: Houghton Mifflin, the country’s oldest educational publisher, has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant to support the Human Resources team within our company.
Office environment is very open, first point of contact for most of HR business.
Daily schedule is very dynamic, fluid, high volume of customer interaction varies greatly from time of day as well as one day to the next.
A very busy front desk.
Must develop competency for HR services and products to better serve customers and support the HR department.
50% - Customer contact Greet walk-ins; determine reason for their being here and contact appropriate staff member.
Oversee applicants filling out applications on line.
Develop process for accurate customer service Receive incoming calls (HR/Benefits) and redirect, also includes providing back up to VP of HR and Compensation Respond to requests for information and/or questions received via email, in person (answer or redirect to appropriate staff member Schedule appointments Assist employees with Employee Self Service Kios Blood drive and flu shot program management 35% - Administrative Manage mail for Department (3 mail drops per day) and faxes (HR/Benefits); sorting, opening, and date stamping materials Recruiting support.
Forward hrassist e-mails to the appropriate staff person Maintain supply of new hire packets Employment verification Takes materials to copy center 5 % - Logistics Meeting management 10% - Other duties as assigned/projects Provide administrative support to HR management and Generalists on projects Requirements High school or Bachelor’s degree is preferred 3+ years in an administrative position supporting multiple people Recently degreed with a BA/BS looking to grow into an HR role is also acceptable Literacy in common software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, etc is also required Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required Position offers excellent benefits and competitive pay.
