Department: TPMG Financial Services Schedule: Full-time regular, 40 hours/week Education: Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience, in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field Licensure/Certification: N/A Position Summary: Qualifications: Previous direct supervisory experience in a production-oriented accounting environment with mainframe, interactive accounting systems.

Significant experience (usually 3-5 years) in account payables or billing processing.

Significant knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles required.

Cost accounting, general ledger or inventory accounting experience helpful.

Proficient with various software applications.

Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.

Familiarity with medical terminology, billing procedures (CPT4, UB82 and ICD9 codes) and standard insurance billing review practices may be required.

Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Some project management and customer focus training; team building skills Skills Testing: N/A Duties: Ensures that invoices and expenses are approved, coded to the proper general ledger account, recorded in the appropriate payables system, and paid in a timely manner in accordance with corporate policies/procedures.

Serves as authoritative resource in dealing with internal and external customer service issues.

May regularly be required to meet and partner with key customers and partners to make presentations of AP process issues and initiatives and to promote the unit/department.

Trains regional and facility personnel.

Maintains and develops comprehensive procedure manuals.

Monitors audit systems, which measure coding, data quality/completeness, contract compliance.

Coordinates necessary corrective action to be taken.

Verifies success of corrective action.

May lead some internal process/systems improvement initiatives.

May act on behalf of the unit/department manager in his/her absence.

Supervises payables staff; ensures the unit meets its goals and objectives; adjusts staff workload and resolves exceptions, variances from procedures and problems with vendors complying with KP payment policy.

Communicates and enforces compliance with contracts between Kaiser and outside vendors/providers.

Evaluates the department's performance through review of production and quality control mechanisms developed to improve and maintain the quality, volume and timeliness of payment.

Monitors department/unit performance through the use of metrics.

Partners with Senior Accountants/Senior Financial Analysts to ensure that AP transactions are properly recorded and reflected in the General Ledger.

Supervises the maintenance of the department computer systems and the integrity of the data input.

Resolves data processing problems in the feeder database systems.

Ensures system compatibility so that the required information is reported accurately.

Actively participates in system enhancements.

Assists auditors with periodic audits.

Participates on interdisciplinary project teams and groups to evaluate and develop financial and operational policies.

Interprets, codifies and communicates payment policies to management, staff and outside vendors.

Consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanente's code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures
