- Safeguard the assets of the Company.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Determine the reliability of data being generated.
- Promote operational efficiencies and identify cost-savings opportunities.
·The objectives of this position will be achieved through the performance of detailed Financial and Operational audit assignments of the Del Monte Foods Company operations, as directed.
·Provide an objective and independent evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of the Company's financial and operational controls.
·Perform audits of functional areas, production locations, distribution centers, and brokers.
·Assist in all phases of the audit process, including planning, fieldwork, closeout, report writing, wrap-up and follow-up.
·Assist in the development of audit test procedures to ensure that controls are operating as intended.
·Assist in the development of recommendations for improvement to the Company's control environment.
·Participate in Special Projects, such as due diligence, physical inventory observations, assistance to external auditors, risk assessments, etc. ·Assist in the Company's Sarbanes-Oxley 404 Project by documenting and testing internal controls over the financial reporting process.
·Maintain comprehensive working papers to support and substantiate audit observations.
·Assist in the development of the Internal Audit Department's procedures, practices and training.
Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline required - (e.
g., Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Equivalent).
Prior relevant work experience is preferred, but not required - (e.
g., Public Accounting and/or Internal Audit in Big 4 Firm, or Internal Audit Department for Fortune 1000 Company).
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and auditing techniques is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Motivated individual able to use initiative to conduct assignments with adequate supervision.
Professional certification (or substantially complete) is preferred, but not required - (e.
g., CPA, CMA, CIA or CISA).
Spanish language skills a plus, but not required.
Expected travel averages 25 - 35% per year - depending on current schedule of audit assignments.
Includes potential for travel to some international locations.
