Information Technology's (IT) key approaches to meet these needs consists of the Applications, Telecommunications, Project Management, Web, and Technology.

The Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) manages a cross-functional team of Technical and System resources.

These resources cover areas that include, but are not limited to, hardware platforms, networking, support, operations, and application interfacing.

Key responsibilities for Technical Project Team, and therefore the TPM's responsibilities, are to oversee the development of system technical requirements definition, design, implementation and support transition.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

If the bachelor's degree is in any other field, formal education in Project Management or equivalent work experience is required.

Experience in managing large, complex Information Technology projects is preferred.

Demonstrated experience successfully managing teams and multiple projects in a matrix environment is preferred.

Demonstrated experience using Project Management software tools is required.

Experience with MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel is preferred.

Experience as an IT systems analyst is desired.

Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.

Understanding of project management techniques and communication skills needed to successfully direct complex projects is required.

Knowledge of analysis, design, and configuration of complex systems in PC, mainframe, and client-server-based environments is desired.

Thorough understanding of current trends and strategies in healthcare and their application to information technologies is preferred.

Must demonstrate strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Must perform duties in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision or direction.

Must demonstrate organizational, problem solving and project management abilities.

Must demonstrate the ability to influence without direct control and/or authority.

Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment.

Certification in Project Management by a nationally accredited organization is desired.

Must be able to evaluate workload, available resources, and to adjust schedules and priorities as required.

Must be able to observe and evaluate employee performance and take corrective action when necessary, including the provision of proper training.

Must possess the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret statistical information.

Able to communicate complex issues in both oral and written form in terms clearly understood by technical and non-technical audiences.

Possesses skills at documenting service levels, implementation progress, and outcomes.

Must be skilled at specifying network hardware and software requirements, interacting with technical vendors, and determining and negotiating desirable contract terms.

Requires some travel and the ability to adapt to flexible work hours.

Requires the ability to work in a virtual office either at Sutter IT, at the customer site, on the road, or at a home office.
