Senior Accountant/Analyst
The Senior Accounting Analyst serves as the key financial contact person for the organization, working closely with all levels within the network to collect, process, review, analyze & report the financial results of the operations.
Oversee year end audit, ensuring timely completion of schedules & reporting including, but not limited to, P&L, balance sheet, cash flows, net asset transfers, investments, debt, fund accounting and inter-company activity including eliminations.
Perform monthly analysis of P&L activity, reconciliation of complex balance sheet accounts including accounts receivable and inter-company accounts.
Process the journal entries.
Perform all functions within time-sensitive, deadline-driven environment.
Act as PO liaison to investment accountants, benefits accountants, special billing department, cash postings, A/R department, budget department, Accounts Payable, Research Finance, internal Patient Billing Office, business managers, & all affiliated financial staff for all general ledger activity.
Serve as a key player in the organization's software upgrades to related systems affecting the PO. Oversee the work of the senior accountants supporting the PO, includes training of new incumbents.
Perform ad hoc analysis of issues to support management inquiries, and other projects and reports as requested.
Ensure that customer needs are being serviced, including but not limited to the entity CFO, accounting managers, operational business managers, and other finance areas requiring financial data input and output.
Identify opportunities for change and improvement; recommend and implement accordingly.
This role calls for an assertive, self motivated team player with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA are a plus.
This person must have four to six years of work experience with one or two years of supervisory experience.
Physician practice financial accounting or healthcare experience is a plus.
Candidates must possess knowledge of fund accounting, excellent oral & written communications skills, and strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to research issues and process complex transactions and procedures.
Cash balance reporting skills are a plus.
Experience is needed in translating and communicating key analyses and assumptions to senior management for decision-making.
The ideal candidate will also need the ability to manage multiple processes and lead small teams.
Strong PC spreadsheet (Excel) capabilities as well as familiarity with accounting systems are required.
