Senior Accountant: Warner Music Group
Department Description: The Finance department is responsible for accurately reporting the financial position of the company on a monthly basis.
In addition, the Finance department is responsible for establishing operational controls related to financial activities and preparing the fiscal budget for which the company is measured against, as well as preparing monthly forecasts and other weekly/monthly reports.
The department also handles Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Cash Management, and assists with the Royalties process.
Finally, the department is a partner to all other departments with regards to their operations and making strategic decisions that benefit the company.
High Level Job Description: Roadrunner Records, a top independent rock record label, is in need of a Senior Accountant who will actively participate in processing month-end closes, preparing weekly & monthly reports, payroll, and other Finance department operations.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities: · Preparing analyses and booking journal entries for month-end close related to sales, royalties, marketing, payroll, overhead, fixed assets and other Balance Sheet and P&L items for US and Canada divisions.
· Processing semi-monthly payroll for 60+ employees and assisting with Human Resources efforts.
· Managing intercompany recharges.
· Monthly analysis & reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts.
· Accounts Receivable management issue between 5-10 external invoices per month and pursue collection.
· Assisting Staff Accountant with Accounts Payable when needed.
· Preparing weekly reports for Sales, Marketing and Cash.
· Bank reconciliations.
· Assisting with Marketing & Recording Budget administration.
· Working with Royalties department to issue payment of royalties.
· Other assignments as needed and depending on workload.
Required Competencies/Skills: Strong analytical & organizational skillsGoal oriented; team work mentality; deadline drivenProfessional, high integrity, can be trusted with confidential informationHigh proficiency with ExcelExcellent written & verbal communication skills Special Requirements/Preferences: · Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a similar role.
· Music industry experience preferable · Payroll experience, preferably with ADP Pay eXpert · Experience working with and analyzing large amounts of data · Demonstrated understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
· Must thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment · Ability to multi-task and prioritize · Must understand big picture yet have a roll up sleeves work ethic Education Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting
