Lehman Brothers Asset Management, located in Chicago, is seeking a junior fixed income analyst to work with its high yield team.

Should have a minimum of two years credit analysis experience.

Responsibilities: Independently conducts fixed-income research.

Fundamental credit analyses may focus on individual securities, classes of securities, or the development of decision-making models.

Prepares/maintains financial models and monitors earnings releases/news stories.

Works under the direction of Senior Analysts.

Over time, with expected development, will assume accountability for specific sector(s).

Requirements: Minimum two years credit analysis experience in institutional fixed income investments, with emphasis in fixed income credit research or leverage lending preferred.

Formal credit training preferred.

Mathematical and analytical ability enabling the understanding of market relationships and statistical research.

Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet applications required.

Proficiency in the use of computer tools such as Bloomberg, Excel, Factset is required.

Personal characteristics such as high energy level, discipline and the ability to assume responsibility for decisions.

Highly motivated, with the ability to deal effectively with people in a variety of relationships and situations and work in a team environment.

Still developing and refining research knowledge and skills, but strong potential for making relative value investment decisions in a dynamic total return environment.

Completion or progress toward MBA or CFA designation desired.

NASD Series 7 License Required.

Preference given to local candidates.
