Director - Advanced Planning – MAR00436
Description Job Summary During this time of exponential growth, Sun Life Financial is expanding its Advanced Marketing group to include a Tax Attorney with demonstrated expertise in tax law, focused on business, retirement and estate planning.
In this role you will deliver technical and legal tax and planning assistance to Sun Life's distribution channels and to Home Office staff.
If you are a marketing-oriented tax attorney interested in working collaboratively in team-oriented environment, we will give you the tools to learn our products.
Main Accountabilities Design and Implement educational programs and seminars.
Review legal documents prepared by outside counsel Write articles for SLF and professional publications.
Partner with the field offering phone, e-mail, written communications and presentations.
Deliver presentations within the home office and in the field.
Travel approximately 25-30% Learn products within 6 months of hire date, concentration on individual insurance product offerings, & secondarily annuities and corporate owned life insurance Qualifications Marketing-oriented attorney with demonstrated expertise in tax law, particularly business, retirement and estate planning.
Membership in one state bar minimum.
Technical expertise in federal and state income, gift and estate taxation; estate, business, retirement and financial planning.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of planning with financial products preferred.
Experience in accounting and sales and/or an LLM in Tax a plus!
