Configuration Manager, Job ID# 8182
Job Description: Job Description: This position will serve as a technical analyst for Software Configuration Management Tools: ClearCase (company standard distributed application version control tool) and Openmake (company standard distributed applications build management tool).
This position will work with Application Development Teams (mainly Websphere) to assist with ClearCase product and best practices in version control, application build management with Openmake and other software configuration management best practices.
Some of these activities will include setting up projects in ClearCase and Openmake, executing and troubleshooting distributed builds (compiles & links) as well as training and mentoring the teams on how to use the tools.
The person accepted for this position will: · Work with Application Development Teams to ensure timely and accurate builds of the application software.
· Define, document and plan issues/enhancements for ClearCase, Openmake, build and SCM processes.
Work with internal and external BT Teams and vendors to implement necessary changes.
· Continue to automate Application build processes to better utilize time and resources on the team.
· Conduct quality reviews of Application Team SCM practices on a regular basis to identify risks and potential problems and recommend solutions · Support ClearCase development and production environments in SSB and LP for distributed developers and supporting teams.
· Support Openmake development and production environments in SSB. · Support of rotating team primary pager responsibility SKILLS Required: Required: Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to think creatively on problems and come up with interim/long-term solutions to technical issues.
Solid understanding of SCM processes and distributed application development environment.
Demonstrated experience with Distributed Application Development tools such as WSAD, Java, Openmake and ClearCase.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Be able to respond to multiple requests under tight deadlines and in a dynamic working environment.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least 5+ or more years Desired:
