Boylston Search Associates, Boston's premier resource for elite senior, managerial, and executive level Accounting and Finance professionals and the companies that seek these special individuals, has been contracted to find superior candidates for the following opportunity: CONTROLLER - CONSTRUCTION Our client, one of the Boston areas largest and most respected commercial construction companies, has a key requirement for a senior level Controller.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, this position will play a significant role in all areas of financial management for the corporation.

Duties/Responsibilities: Direct the overall financial review process of all projects under construction.

Examine the company's system of internal controls and develop appropriate auditing (review) strategies.

Conduct project financial reviews and communicate the results to senior management.

The Controller will be knowledgeable about all aspects of Construction Accounting and Project Management Policies & Procedures.

Project financial reviews will include, but not be limited to: Analysis of the Monthly Project Forecast, Adherence to the Corporate Bonding Policy Adherence with all Risk Management Policies & Procedures Monthly Cash Position Analyses and Forecasts Subcontractor compliance with terms & conditions of the contract (ie insurance, billing procedures, etc.) Pending owner change orders Pending subcontractor change orders and backcharges Analysis of all Contingency accounts Analysis of Corporate and or subcontractor claims Conducting project (and operational) reviews of Standard Operating Procedures; communicating results to Sr. Mgmt.

Review compliance with corporate CCIP & SubGuard programs including close interaction with Director of Risk Mgmt.

Participate in division management, client and project meetings as required.

Other special projects as necessary.

Experience/Qual/Edu: 10-15 years of accounting experience in the construction industry.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Advanced degree / CPA certification a plus.

Extensive knowledge of standard accounting policies & procedures.

Must be able to work effectively with both Corporate and Operations staff blending incisive fact-finding with constructive cooperation.

Outstanding team player and with good interpersonal skills.

Self-starter with strong critical thinking, communication and technology skills.

Reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Dedicated and hard working with leadership qualities.

SALARY: $120,000 to $150,000+ The selected candidate will be included in the executive management benefits, bonus and compensation programs.
