Business Analyst
Job Description Qualified individual will develop, implement, analyze, maintain, and present strategic, business, and financial plans to support business units, programs, projects, and processes.
Uses historical and forecast data and performs trend analysis, earned value management, variance analysis, risk assessments, estimates at completion and business modeling to identify issues and provide guidance and recommendations to customers and management.
Interfaces with internal and external customers, industry, and government representatives may be required.
Individual will be responsible for business analysis, requiring cross-enterprise or crossbusiness unit coordination.
Conducts investigations and analyses of complex problems, requiring organizational, procedural, or policy decisions, and contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
Prepares and conducts training sessions on planning, scheduling, and related subjects.
Synthesizes information based on experience and judgment to arrive at optimum solutions to problems involving both internal and external customers.
Competencies Applicant should possess mid-level accounting proficiency, strong computer skills, Excel, word and Microsoft Access preferred.
Complementary skills would include strong analytical ability and good communication skills.
EAS GL/PC experience preferred.
Cost Accounting or CARS experience highly desired.
Complete knowledge of how to implement/maintain/document effective internal controls and processes to ensure system integrity and compliance with accounting system requirements and company internal control guidelines and requirements.
Experience with Peoplesoft-based accounting management systems preferred.
Candidate must be ready to participate actively in a program team environment along with Scheduling, Business Operations, Contracts, Estimating and Procurement as well as program management.
Individual will be required to review and validate chargeline set up requests, Setup chargelines and the applicable attributes in the Accounting System, Maintain existing chargelines (Extension of closure dates, closing), Act as Interdivisional Work Authorization focal, Process Cost Transfers, Contract close-outs, Troubleshooting system issues as related to chargelines and running Accounting System queries as requested by internal customers.
Coordination with Accounts Receivable with EAS set-up authorization.
Education Prefer a bachelor's degree in business or related field and typically 6 yrs exp, a master's degree and typically 5 yrs experience Relocation Money Available YES Notes
